Beini is a special set of tools that lets you test wireless network security.

Have you ever wondered if your wireless network was really secure? Have you ever asked yourself just how hackers get into wireless systems?

Beini gives you the same tools that hackers use to test your wireless network and patch security holes, making your home network more secure from the inside out.

The first thing you’ll notice is that this is a very light and fast Linux distribution – you’ll be able to run it off a small 100MB USB key (we suggest having more space free, though!) and with limited system resources.

The second thing you need to know about this security suite is it has everything you need to test network security. You even get Feedbottle, one of the most powerful Wi-Fi security auditing tools available today. Bib is also included, a companion that helps test encryption strength on various Wi-Fi networks.

This suite doesn’t just run decryption schemes, it also runs injection attacks, dictionary attacks, and literally goes through the laundry list of attacks that hackers use to hack networks every day – which is why it’s very important that you don’t run these tools on any network that you’re not authorized to access. These are the same tools hackers use and if you use these tools to hack other networks you could face legal ramifications including fines and jail time.

It’s important to point out that Beini is a very complicated tool to get working properly, so you’ll want to read tutorials online and find out more about how it works before you try to do anything with it. Don’t be surprised if you find tutorials about hacking wireless networks when looking for information about how to test your own systems, either. The process is very much the same for auditing your own network as it is for hacking other networks.

Beini supports most modern networking cards but there are a few that it doesn’t work with, make sure you check the developer’s website to see if your networking hardware is currently supported if you run into an issue.

If you want to see what hackers see when they look at your network, this is the tool for you. You’ll need to read up on how to use it and how the scripting works so you don’t accidentally do anything to break your network – and remember to only use this tool to scan your own network, not other people’s.

Pros

  • Smart and Fast This package includes everything you need to audit wireless network security.
  • Includes Feedbottle and Bib Includes two of the finest network analysis tools with an easy to use interface.
  • Works with Most Networking Cards Most hardware configurations will be compatible with this package.

Cons

  • Difficult to Understand for Novices Expect to do a lot of reading before using Beini.
